Περίληψη
Sounds of migration have for long be confined to positivist-coloured schemes of a fruitful musical exchange under the bright umbrella of world music or under a Diaspora paradigm delimitating the role of sounds and texts to their relevance in identity discourses. The entanglement between sound and migration has however a much more painful core – a core which tells about inner torments, separations, pending lives with abrupt new beginnings, and unfinished ends. The lecture, illustrated by rich audiovisual fieldwork material from Albania and Greece, will develop a vision of how an engaged, even existential ethno(musico)logy could make us rethink this entanglement of mobility, sound and lived experience, of musical creativity and emotional bonds and unveil the sonic potential to build social, spatial, and temporal imaginaries.
